Nottingham Forest 1-1 Bournemouth: Iraola's side qualify for Europa League after draw

Andoni Iraola signed off from his Bournemouth tenure with a draw against Nottingham Forest that sent them into the Europa League.
Bournemouth will compete in the Europa League next season after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on the Premier League's final day.
Andoni Iraola's side could have sneaked into the Champions League, but Liverpool's draw with Brentford and Aston Villa's win over Manchester City cut short those hopes.
Bournemouth did struggle early on at the City Ground, with Chris Wood hitting the post after Elliot Anderson's inviting cross, before the hosts took a deserved lead in the 34th minute.
Omari Hutchinson rolled a free-kick short, and Morgan Gibbs-White did the rest by slamming a lovely finish into the bottom-left corner.
But Iraola's side hit back shortly after the interval when Adrien Truffert's tenacious run ended with a short offload for Marcus Tavernier, who slammed high into the roof of Matz Sels' net.
Taiwo Awoniyi had an opportunity to steal all three points late on, but the Forest forward sent a towering header agonisingly wide of the left-hand post.
The draw saw Bournemouth end the season unbeaten in 18 league games, as they prepare to wave farewell to Iraola and welcome Marco Rose as head coach for the next campaign.
Data Debrief: Gibbs-White delivers again
Having missed out on an England call-up for the upcoming World Cup, Gibbs-White – on his 150th Premier League start – offered a timely reminder of his impressive qualities.
He has now been involved in 11 goals in his last 10 Premier League appearances (nine goals, two assists), with no player managing more in that timeframe.
His nine goals in that period are also the outright most, but Bournemouth had their own midfield hero in Tavernier, who created his most chances (six) in a Premier League match.
Tavernier's goal was also his seventh in the competition this season, netting more this term than he did across 2023-24 and 2024-25 combined (six, three each season).
But Vitor Pereira may feel his side should have claimed all three points, having edged the expected goals tally (1.87 for Forest to Bournemouth's 1).
